My approach to couples counseling utilizes Dialogue Therapy.
Dialogue Therapy is a time limited couples therapy that assists couples realize where they are stuck and how to get unstuck from repetitive conflicts where they feel wounded or unseen by the other.
The goal is to renew intimacy and trust with one another.
This approach addresses unconscious dynamics, conflicts and maladaptive functioning in a relationship, and helps couples achieve greater closeness by teaching them how to communicate their needs more effectively. In this way, couples learn to see and feel themselves as separate individuals who are a part of a greater whole.
The work is designed so that the couple learns, right from the start, how to talk directly to each other, rather than to the therapist. Couples develop skills that can be utilized together, even when not in the presence of the therapist.
These skills will have an immediate benefit to your relationship.
